Western Australia’s biggest Street Machine and Custom Car show turns 25!
Yes the 25th running of this great event will be held at the Perth Motorplex on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 January 2011.
The event will see the return of all the popular activities including the sensational day and night Motorvation Burnout competition, driving events, Sound Off, Dyno comp, Miss Motorvation and so much more including the inaugural Motorvation Powerskid competition!
Each year Motorvation brings in feature vehicles for the event and for the 25th anniversary we are bringing in a Street Machiner who has become symbolic of Australian Street Machining – Canberra’s Peter Fitpatrick.
Fitzpatrick has won more Summernationals Grand Champion awards (5) than any other competitor in the events 23 years, Fitzpatricks FC has become an icon of Australian Street Machining and was recently awarded the Meguires Champion of the Decade.
The FC has recently undergone a complete rebuild (it’s third) and it has astounded judges nationally with it’s attention to detail and the quality of the finish.
Another important aspect of Fitzpatrick and his FC is the broad appeal that it has.
Street Machiners will instantly recognise it as being symbolic of Australian Street Machining.
Lovers of classic ‘old skool’ will love the FC’s lines
Those who go by the adage – ‘There are no substitutes for cubic inches’ will admire the way the 440 cubes have been shoe horned into the engine bay!
And those who are into Late Model and Hi Tech will enjoy the EFI and Twin Turbos!
This is the peoples car – and it is coming to Motorvation 25!
Motorvation 25 will also see the crowning of two Burnout Champions with two seperate competitions for the BLOWN brigade (mechanical superchargers pokin’ through the bonnet) and the OPEN category for those loaded with either Carby, EFI, Turbo, under the bonnet supercharger or NOS.
Qualifying for both categories will be conducted over two sessions on Saturday afternoon and Saturday evening with both the BLOWN and OPEN finals being held Sunday afternoon.
James Calway will be back in RAVIN to defend his Motorvation Burnout title he won last year. |
Calway will be competing in the OPEN class.
It’s a tough job…but some one has to look after the Miss Motorvation entrants. |
Miss Motorvation will be held on Saturday.
Miss Motorvation comprises of a qualifying session at 11am at the Cruising bar.
This is followed by the hugely popular 5pm ‘Bikini’ round which is held in front of the Speedway Gold seating area to cater for the huge numbers attending this important part of the event.
The final of Miss Motorvation will be held on the Hankook Tyres Snakepit at 8:30pm just prior to the final Burnout qualifying session.
Other major competitions include the Horse power King dyno competition. This is held over 2 days in Victory Lane.
For those who live by the adage “If its too loud – then you are too old” there is the Motorvation Sound Off competition presented by Alberts Car Stereo Cannington and Myaree.
This is held over two days in the ‘Topside’ area adjacent to the main entrance.
And of course…for many it is the ambition of being crowned Motorvation Grand Champion’ the best judged vehicle at the event.
Don’t miss Traders Alley, the asphalt driving events (Go-whoa and Powerskid), the Grass driving events (Motorkhana and Park – a – rama) and of course one of the FIVE (yes, you read right…FIVE) Supercruises where you can see up to 800 Street Machines and Custom Cars cruising the Perth Motorplex.
There will be a separate Elite Driving event (Go-whoa) and Supercruise on Saturday night.
Motorvation 25 will be held on Saturday 15 between 10am and 10pm and Sunday 16 January between 10am and 5pm.
A detailed event schedule will be uploaded shortly.
